Where did the corn go? August 20, 2008
Posted by CamdenKiwi in : Miscellany , trackbackIt’s August. There should be corn on the cob. Proper corn on the cob, with leaves.
Waitrose only has cobs on little plastic trays wrapped up in plastic bags.
It’s worse than Sainsbury’s wine by the glass. We’re doomed, doomed.

Hi! I boycott any little bitty bit of plastic too and take actual trays, like you found the other day, to the veg manager and have a little ranting chat about how ridiculous it is!
For unpackaged corn, visit London’s Borough Market - the UK’s largest public fruit and veg market. Get there via London Bridge Stn tube stop and bring mates. If you love good quality coffee, visit Monmouth which is devine and shabby chic and nip around the back to Neal’s Yard Dairy…for a looksee of some fab cheeses and samples.
The Borough Market is fab, but I can get corn on the cob, in leaves at the local veg market on Camden High St. Cheap too.
